Rheumatic hearth disease is one of the most serious forms of heart disease that can be suffered by childhood and adolescence. Rheumatic heart disease involves the damage of the entire heart and its membranes.

Rheumatic fever results from an untreated strepthroat. Rheumatic fever can damage the heart valves. So if this happen to heart then the valve can’t work properly, this called causes rheumatic heart disease. Rheumatic fever can occur in children who have strep infections but untreated or inadequate treated.

The symptoms of having rheumatic heart disease are breathlessness, fatigue, palpitations, chest pain, and fainting attacks. Rheumatic heart diseases can be cured by medication or through surgery. Surgery is needed to replace or repair the valve damage on the heart.

Anemia Causes Rheumatic

Anemia diseases can make the supply of blood to all body organ can disturb, the below is caused by amonia diseases:
  • Iron utillization is impaired. The decrease of serum iron and concentration transfer and an increase synthesis of feritin.
  • Reduce erythropoieotin levels
  • Decrease bone marrow response to erythropoitin.
  • Premature destruction of red blood cells. The life span of red blood cell may decrease
  • Drug associated by anemia
The degree of Rheumatic Arthritis (RA) is related to the activity of underlying diseases and inflammation. The treatment activity to RA will usually improve the anemia as will erythropoietin therapy. Anemia of chronic disorder will not response to iron. 

Chronic deficiency of RA versus iron or other deficiency depend on the individual patient, so it is better to know the baseline of every patient. Any change can be seen in the clinical context and the cause determined i.e. the changes become more significant.

Pediatric Rheumatic Heart Disease

When PO penicillin is not feasible or dependable, a single dose of intramuscular benzalthine peniciline G or benzalthine/procaine penicillin combination is therapeutic.

For patient who have alergy to penicillin, administer erythromycin or a first generation cephalosporin. Other options include clarithromycin for 10 days, azithromycin for 5 days, or a narrow spectrum (first generation) cephalosporin for 10 days. As many as 15% of patients who are allergic to penicillin are also allergic to cephalosporin.
